Diana has been dancing since the age of 5. She’s done everything from Classical Ballet to Hip Hop. She has a passion and love for the art of dance and needed an adult outlet to express herself through music. She started to really pursue swing dancing in 2006. After going to a few swing dances held by the Piedmont Swing Dance society. Diana started taking lessons from Gary Holland and The Swing of Things. In 2008 Gary asked her to help teach some of his beginner East Coast classes and has been teaching with Him ever since. Diana has a passion to continue to learn more and better her dancing, so that she can spread the Awesomeness that is Swing Dancing.
Gary has been swing dancing since October of 1997. He studied under the direction of Joel Domoe who strongly influenced the community in the Piedmont. By 1999 Joel had asked Gary to help teach some of his classes and well he has been teaching ever since. He has competed in a few competitions, but really enjoys the social aspects of dancing much more. He Says, “I enjoy being able to explore another side of me that I didn’t know was there… I’m not much for words, so being able to communicate without talking is… well… there are no words to explain it!”
